Terry Siqueira, President and CEO of SQ Enterprises Inc., started his musical journey in 1975. He has been teaching privately and professionally for over 40 years. Terrence Siqueira holds a BMus Elementary (1985) and BEd Secondary (1987) from the University of Calgary. He has been a certified Professional Alberta Teacher with 35 years of service in the Province. 

Since June 30, 2022, Terry has retired from CTR Catholic schools, having been employed with them for the last 32 years. He also taught for the Foothills School Division from 1987-90. Terry has received numerous awards, including the winner of the Alberta Music Festival Provincial Plaque in Classical Guitar, the Royal Conservatory Teacher Award, Excellence in Teaching Awards for CTR and Province, and an Appreciation Award for Service to a Community for Canada’s 150th Anniversary of Confederation. Terry has been featured in the Press numerous times and was also a finalist as one of the Top 10 faces recognized in the Foothills of Alberta! Mr. Siqueira has also been a Band Teacher for a few decades, specializing in Beginner Band. He also teaches songwriting, theory and music history. 

His passion is using music in literacy settings to promote lifelong learning. He has been a Foothills Young Author’s Conference presenter for over 20 years! Most recently, Mr. Siqueira has written a children’s book called, “How Reid Erman Became Reader Man” (May 2022), a book about reading strategies for children needing motivation and engagement in the reading process. This book is also of high value to reluctant readers. The book also gives parents an insight into the key strategies they can use with their child to support teachers in the classroom.
